Description

Also called Hop Tree as bitter-zesty-citric flavor fruit has been reported to be used as a substitute for hops in beer making. Attractive ornamental small tree or shrub also provides food and shelter for birds and mammals. It is a host plant for Eastern Tiger and Giant Swallowtail. Many butterflies enjoy sweet nectar from flowers. Waferlike fruit and seeds shimmer when the wind blows. Sow seeds directly outdoors or to speed germination cold stratify for 3 months at 41 degrees.
