Excellent mixture of annuals and perennials that quail, dove and turkey relish. Plant it once. The birds keep coming back because the seed does. Grasses provide habitat structure that quail desire for cover and allows chicks to walk through easily. This can last a lifetime.

"Where Have All the Quail Gone?", a recent publication by The Texas Quail Conservation Initiative, identified several reasons behind quail decline. The major one being habitat loss through land fragmentation. Quail prefer to travel through their range on the ground and not through the air. Quail use tall bunch grasses for cover and nesting. Not only are native wildflowers and grasses drought tolerant and beautiful but they supply nutrients perfectly suited and balanced for our native wildlife. At Native American Seed we have created a seed mix called Sustainable Quail & Dove Mix that includes the best of these native grasses & wildflowers. Issue your own invitation to our declining Quail population by planting sustainable native grasses & wildflowers. Good for Turkeys too!
