Description

Zexmenia is classified as a shrub by some botanists. It's evergreen in its native range -- South and Southwest Texas, and down into Mexico. Farther north, it dies back to the ground in the winter. In all areas, it's a well-behaved plant that makes a rounded mass of yellow, daisy-like flowers. It will bloom in dappled shade all summer, but does better in full sun. Zexmenia is very drought-tolerant.
