Lindheimers indigo, Indigofera lindheimeriana, is a shrubby plant with a pink to salmon colored bloom. The pinnately compound leaves typical of the pea family are a grayish green and are soft to the touch. This shrubby native can grow from 2 to 6 feet in height and can be found along the gravel bars and flood plains of our Texas hill Country Rivers. It is a great riparian plant helping to add stability in these easily flooded areas.
